Ribonuclease

BBI Enzymes, is a leading producer of Ribonuclease A (RNase), supplying the enzyme as a key component for molecular biology reagents and as a key component in protease mixtures. The enzyme has been used for the removal of RNA in DNA purification procedures for over 20 years.

RNases demonstrate a series of important biological functions, such as killing tumour cells and inhibiting viruses.  Several ribonucleases are known to be toxic to tumor cells.

RNase is extracted from bovine pancreas using multiple precipitation, fractionation, chromatography, and filtration steps. The process from extraction of pancreas to final product takes approximately 12 weeks, resulting in multi-kg batches of highly purified RNase A.

Our procedures, which have been developed and optimised over many years, ensure the highest quality, stability, and batch-to-batch consistency, and provide RNase products with proven performance in DNA extraction kits.
