Enzyme production is a highly complex, technical and lengthy process. Here at BBI Enzymes, our highly experienced team is able to manufacture ultra pure natural enzymes from very crude raw materials. We can offer considerable versatility in terms of manufacturing scale – from thousands of litres down to millilitres or tens of kilograms to milligrams of freeze-dried protein.

BBI Enzymes offers custom development and manufacturing of enzymes and related biochemical’s. This can range from simple transference of customer methodology to complete development and optimisation of a purification method. Our extensive experience in all aspects of protein purification and subsequent analysis means that we have the capability to take the raw material, whether it is a crude fermentation product, a partially purified product or even a natural plant or animal tissue and develop a purification method.

Stage One:

The process would typically start with small scale purification work conducted by the Research & Development team. During this stage a sound understanding of the critical process parameters would be gained in order to develop a robust process capable of consistently preparing a material of the required specification.

Stage Two:

This would typically involve an intermediate scale up of the process prior to full-scale manufacture. Our R&D personnel are experts in full-scale manufacture and this helps us to ensure a smooth transfer to the manufacturing environment.

Stage Three:

BBI Enzymes quality approved contract manufacturing facility allows for a flexible system of manufacture, enabling you to keep control of your budgets. From providing trial batches for validation to long term manufacture, BB I Enzymes will ensure that you receive the exact level of contract manufacture that is suitable to you.

BBI Enzymes conducts a variety of routine protein analyses such as enzyme assays, protein determinations, analytical chromatography, SDS PAGE and Isoelectric focusing. As well as confirming the purity of the final product, the analyses, when conducted during processing and process development, ensure we fully understand the effect of all purification steps, which in turn results in the development of a robust process.
